Dr. Sahar Basiri-Esfahani
Dr Sahar Basiri Esfahani (BSc, MSc, PhD physics), completed her PhD study in 2015 at the Australian Centre for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQuS), School of Mathematics and Physics, The University of Queensland, Australia. Her research was mainly focused on quantum measurement and control in cavity opto-mechanical systems. After her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at EQuS for two years researching on opto-mechanical high precision sensors. In 2018, she was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions COFUND fellowship through the Sêr Cymru II programme and was
appointed as senior research scientist at the Department of Physics of Swansea University. Her current research is on using theories of open quantum systems to investigate quantum effects in organic molecular systems and opto-mechanical sensing and metrology.
